Brand New Lens!

So... Yesterday my new lens was delivered to me at my office and I have instantly fallen in LOVE with it! Here are some of the very first photos with the new lens:

Fireworks

One of my favorite things to do in summer is watch fireworks shows. I've been like this since I was a kid. Back in my very young days, my dad would set up his own show in our yard and many people from our little town would come out to watch. Not only that, but many others would drive by just to get a glimpse of our sparkly lights in the sky. Just this past weekend I went to the Minneapolis Aquitennial to watch their famed firework show. While I wasn't able to get any good shots that night (couldn't find just the right spot) I did enjoy just sitting and watching. So, since I can't provide from this past weekend, I will include shots from past shows including my trip to Disney World last February.

Ahhhh... Friday. Possibly the best day of the week... although I could probably say that about a few days durning the week. So, today I share with you one of the two best things that are probably sleeping away the dreary morning on the back of the love seat in my appartment. The very hansome, and photogenic, Boo. My other cat is a bit camera shy.

Inspired by a couple shots I took yesterday, I decided I should break out some of my farmer's market shots from last year. I loved last year's shots so much that I hung a series of them in my kitchen in hopes of giving myself a little cullinary inspiration... hasn't worked yet, but the photos are fabulous!

Before the Storm and Water Drops

Just an interesting image of downtown Minneapolis just before a small storm hit yesterday evening.

I love photographing water drops. Seeing the tiny reflections in those tiny beads of water is almost…. mesmerizing.

Last night I drove out to see an old friend of mine and do some family/maternity photos for them. It was absolutely wonderful to catch up with an old friend and have the honor of doing her pregnancy photos for soon to be baby #2. They are absolutely a lovely family!

If ever there were a day that needs brightening, it would be today. At nearly 9am on July 17, 2009 in Minneapolis, MN, it is a mere 58 degrees outside. Very unusual, even for Minnesota! So, today, I've dived into my archives and chosen some of my very favorite butterfly photos to share.
