Copper Copper Everywhere

This is, in fact, one of the newest dishes that I've made. I've taken extremely thin leaves of copper and fused them between two pieces of clear glass. The glass piece was then placed in a mold to give it the final shape.

The really cool thing about this piece is the copper. This is the first time i've seen copper turn blue from fusing. Copper most commonly turns maroonish or black.

The bubbles are a fun accident that happens because of the copper. When copper or any non-glass item is placed between glass for fusing bubbles become trapped between the glass creating a very unique look to every piece like this.

Stay tuned for my valentines heart suncatchers... they'll be posted soon!
